Public Records

Copies of marriage records can be obtained from the New Jersey Department of Health Office of Vital Statistics. Divorce records can be requested from the Monmouth County Family Court. Birth and death records are also available from the Vital Statistics Office.

You can submit an open records request for other county records. An open records request is simply an official request to view particular public government or agency documents. There is a portal through the county website to search most records online. If you cannot locate a record, you can contact the Records Custodian.

Deeds, which are legal documents regarding the ownership of property or legal rights, can be obtained from the County Clerk. Deed records can be found online through the County Clerk’s website.
